Energy – Efficient Glazing
At a low cost, you can replace your single-glazed window pane, save money and help protect the environment.
In an average home, 35% of the thermal loss is due to the windows. More specifically, the amount of energy we need to cool a space down is three times the amount we need to heat it up. Therefore, the benefits of using energy-efficient glazing are multiple.
But what is energy-efficient glazing?
The temperature of our home at the end of the summer is by 15 degrees higher, as our house accumulates the heat. But the heating /cooling ratio is 1 to 3 and in order to avoid the cost of using air conditioners, we need to reduce the amount of the energy that is accumulated.
Koutmos Glass, as a member of Panhellenic Federation of Traders and Manufacturers of Glass (POEVY), has been certified to replace simple windows with new energy-efficient ones.
These new generation glass panes, due to the coating of tiny oxides on one side, do not allow heat transfer from the interior to the exterior of our house and vice versa. In other words, this glazing creates insulation and the permeability coefficient of the energy is reduced sharply. Therefore, the need for heating and fuel consumption is lower.
